Port Douglas

7th (sunday) Left Cook Town early so we could go to The Lions Den to have breakfast. Was quite a pretty cool pub with a lot of character. The walls are filled with peoples names that have been there and there are also a few photos and funny things to read. There is a nice river behind it also. After a nice breakfast we made our way to Port Douglas. We drove on the Bloomfield track on a scenic tour through the Daintree Rainforest, some of the track was very very steep and it felt like the car was all most vertical on some of the rises. Going down one of the steep declines all 6 wheels had smelly smoke coming off of them from the brakes. We then stopped at the Daintree Discovery Centre and had a look around there, at the end of the walk you can do this survey on the computer but you need a password to be able to fill it out and the guy said if we get the password we get a muffin. After about 10 minutes we got the password right and we got some chocolate muffins which were really nice! We stayed the night at Big 4. All of us kids were jumping on the bouncing pillow that they have there, doing flips and tricks and also tackling eachother and just running a muck.

Cook Town

Stayed in Cook Town for 3 nights. Arrived there in the afternoon on the 4th (thursday) went to an information bay out at the Botanical Gardens and then found camp at the Peninsula caravan park. On the 5th (friday) we started the day off by going to the Grassy hill lighthouse look out which had a fantastic view and is 500ft above sea level. We then went to the James Cook Museum which was pretty interesting, had a big lunch at Cook Town cafe (the burgers were massive). We then went to the National Archives, had a walk around the town and went to the wharf for fish and chips. On the 6th (saturday) we went to the saturday morning markets, they were a typical little country town market with quite a few hippy and feral looking people there and also has a musical boat close by. We then went fishing at the Endeabour River, one of the boys caught a rock cod and another one caught a finger mark. After that we went to Trebethan Falls which was freezing cold! But all of us kids still went for a swim (except Daniel) and some of the adults jumped in too. The only problem that happened in Cook Town is when we got robbed. On the second night at the caravan park some guy from town came out with his hood on and took all of mums notes out of her purse. She didn't notice until we started to go to the waterfall and dad wasnt a happy chap (at all). When we got back from the waterfall dad went to get pissed but he couldn't even do that because they took the bottle of Jack Daniels as well. Bit weird that they didnt take all the technology though..

Sorry for the lack of updates! We ran out of internet but its okay now, we have got some more and I will update you all with everything that has been happening.

Coen

Stayed the night in Coen at the Exchange hotel also know as the Sexchange hotel. Got to have a nice hot shower after not having one for a few days. There were these two cute English Staffies which we had come and chill with us for most of the time. We also got a visit from a wild bull, it came running through the camp site and everyone shat themselves and started running. Instead of mum and dad cooking they decided that we will go and have a counter meal at the pub which was nice.
We are now currently in Laura and will most likely be camping just out of Cook Town tonight.

Vriyla Point

Crossed a bridge made out of logs to get over Crystal Creek to get to the beach. Camped in a nice part at the South of the beach under big pine trees for five days and each night we had a nice fire to sit around. The sunset was quite nice to watch. Everyone went fishing and mud crabbing. We all had showers in a close by creek which was pretty cold! All 3 Toyotas got bogged on the beach but not the Nissan! On the third day we done a day trip to the Twin Falls, Eliot Falls and Fruit Bat Falls. The water was cold but everyone got in and went for a swim. At Eliot Falls all the kids and dads went and jumped off of the waterfall while the mums sat in a little pool because they were chickens. On the way to the falls dad noticed that the bracket to the exhaust pipe tore off and all the front grill was just hanging on by wires because all the plastic clips broke from the corrugated roads. There has been quite a few injuries, mum cut her toe open on a oyster rock, Daniel got some more cuts from oyster rocks and also tried to wipe out a tree, I've hurt my tail bone from slipping on rocks, got some cuts and blisters and nearly stood on a stingray and Dad so far has been fine. During the day us kids played Uno, NFL, volleyball and during the night we played 44 home, more Uno and one night even put on a little dance for the adults. We had quite a few bacon & eggs on toast for breakfast and had a few jaffles also.
